Italian Tenor Pavarotti Died

Luciano Pavarotti died on Thursday morning at his home in Mondena - related Ansa.

His manager, Terri Robson, told the AP in an e-mailed statement that Pavarotti died at his home in Modena, Italy, at 5 a.m. local time. Pavarotti had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer last year and underwent further treatment in August. " In fitting with the approach that characterised his life and work, he remained positive until finally succumbing to the last stages of his illness," the statement said.

The famous singer was hospitalized on August 8th in a Modena’s Polyclinic and was being kept under observation. On Saturday Pavarotti returned to his home and family for further recovery.

At his side when he died were his wife, Nicoletta; his four daughters; his sister, Gabriela; his nephews and close relatives and friends, Robson said.

For his fans, the Pavarotti's voice made him the ideal interpreter of the Italian lyric repertory. For millions more, his charismatic presentations of standards like "Nessun Dorma" from Puccini's "Turandot" became representatives for what opera is all about.

John Mayer and Cameron Diaz Dating

Cameron Diaz, 34, and John Mayer, 29, were seen together in New York several times past week. A source close to Mayer confirmed their dating relationship: "Yes, it's definitely true."

Last Tuesday, the pair were spotted having dessert at the French-Vietnamese restaurant Indochine. "It looked like a casual date," said a source. "She was giggly. She was laughing and seemed happy."

Diaz now is filming new romantic comedy "What Happens in Vegas". She broke up with her four years boyfriend Justin Timberlake in January.
Mayer's most public relationships were with Jennifer Love Hewitt , and most recently, pop star Jessica Simpson. They have split this June.
