Northern California, Treka and Weed were some of the locations where filming was done, and Mt. Shasta in Siskiyou County was used as a backdrop for the film. Alex Vendler, who was the director of photography, used Panavision Cameras to shoot with the standard 35mm film gauge. BSEG Executive Vice President Michael Manaserri is also the film's co-director.
Business Wire said that the budget and look of Babysitter Wanted is similar to that of horror films Saw, Wolf Creek, High Tension and Hostel. These four films did well in the international movie scene and Hostel, which was executive-produced by Quentin Tarantino, was able to earn an impressive $90 million.

On Kyle XY, Dallas plays Kyle, a sixteen year old boy who suddenly wakes up to find that he has no recollection of the past whatsoever, and neither has a bellybutton. He is later brought to a children's home where therapist Nicole Trager is drawn to the mystery of his being. Together with her husband, Stephen Trager, they help Kyle find his true identity and eventually gets tracked down by Zizics, a company that creates clones in artificial wombs.
